Johann Peter Melchior (1747 - 1825)

Melchior was a sculptor and porcelain modeller. His initial training is unknown, but he later received instruction from the sculptor Gebhard Boss in Aachen. From 1765 he worked for various masters: 1765 in the Höchst porcelain factory in the Electorate of Mainz; 1770–1779 court sculptor in Mainz; 1779–1793 porcelain factory in Frankenthal; from 1797 porcelain factory in Nymphenburg.
