Pietro Ricchi called il Lucchese (1606 - 1675)

Pietro Ricchi, called il Lucchese, trained from 1620 to 1623 with Domenico Crespi, called Passignano (1559–1638), in Florence and from 1624 to 1627 with Guido Reni (1575–1642) in Bologna. Ricchi presumably spent two years in Rome before travelling to France to paint frescos. In 1634 he went to Milan. He spent the years 1635 to 1652 in Brescia, where he produced many of his fresco and oil paintings in and around the town. He moved to Venice in 1652, and spent his final years from 1670 in Udine. Ricchi produced panel paintings, fresco series and drawings; of these last only few have survived.
