An unknown painter following the style of Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller chose a natural setting for "Girl in a Blue Silk Dress". The young woman is leaning on a mound, looking at the viewer and holding a bunch of wildflowers. She is shown as demure, with a simple elegance in keeping with the Biedermeier ideal of virtuous demeanour.
