As court painter to Archduke Johann, Ender sojourned between 1829 and 1833 in the Gastein Valley.
The foaming Gasteiner Ache is the protagonist in the small detail shown in "Bad Gastein with Waterfall". Shown between the Straubinger Inn and the waterfall is the stone building, several storeys high, built by the Straubinger family in 1825.
