Blick auf Salzburg
Framesize 47.50 x 55.40 x 4.80 cm
Fischbach dated the painting 1850. It shows the view from the New Town to the Old Town of Salzburg before 1860, when Carl von Schwarz initiated the regulation of the River Salzach. Sections of the town wall are visible on both sides of the river, in the areas of today's Zwergerlgarten and Griesgasse. Between 1670 and 1866/67 the tower of the Franciscan Church was crowned with a baroque dome, which has disappeared from the present-day townscape, along with the horse-drawn barges and cattle-herds.
