Hellbrunn Palace and DomQuartier Salzburg have something in common: Marcus Sitticus

Prince Archbishop Marcus Sitticus (r. 1612 to 1619) had a significant influence on both buildings with his building activities and his love of theater, dance, music and lavish parties – the Residence with the Cathedral in Salzburg’s old town and the pleasure palace in Hellbrunn, which he used as a retreat and summer residence. It is not only the buildings and interiors of the Residenz and Hellbrunn Palace that tell of their shared history, the connecting road between the city and Hellbrunn also marks this important relationship: the route led and still leads from the Residenz in Salzburg’s Old Town through the Kaiviertel via Schanzlgasse past Freisaal Palace through Hellbrunner Allee. This connection must be celebrated! With the combined ticket for the Hellbrunn Palace & trick fountains and the DomQuartier Salzburg.

Combined ticket for both houses: € 24,-

  • For a regular adult ticket
  • Instead of € 15,- for the DomQuartier and € 15,- for Hellbrunn & trick fountains
  • The ticket is valid for 7 days

Our tip: follow in the footsteps of Marcus Sitticus by bike and take the traditional route that the prince archbishop once took in his carriage: from today’s DomQuartier to Hellbrunn Palace. Andrea Stockhammer, director of the DomQuartier and Christian Sernatinger, caretaker of Hellbrunn Palace, will show you the way.
