Focused on the essentials
You can choose between a guided tour of one of the DomQuartier’s permanent exhibitions (the state-rooms of the Residenz, the Cathedral Museum, the Chamber of Curiosities, or St Peter’s Museum), a tour on a specific theme, or a tour of a current special exhibition in the DomQuartier.
The DomQuartier complex, the former center of the prince-archbishops’ power, consisting of the Residenz and the Cathedral and complemented by the Benedictine monastery of St Peter, has been reopened as a continuous tour in 2014, after 200 years. Along this tour, visitors experience the luxurious state-rooms of the Residenz, valuable paintings from the Residenzgalerie, magnificent exhibits from the Cathedral Museum, the Chamber of Curiosities, selected works from St Peter’s Museum, as well as exciting special exhibitions in the Cathedral’s North Oratory and in the Residenzgalerie. This architecturally fascinating tour is enhanced by splendid vistas: from the organ loft you look into the Cathedral, and from the Cathedral Arcade Terrace you gaze out over Residenzplatz and Domplatz.
We will be happy to advise you on which highlights – depending on your interests – we can include in a tour for you and your group.
