Immerse yourself in the heart of the World Heritage Site and discover the baroque lines of sight in and around the DomQuartier

Look forward to a fascinating guided tour that not only highlights the impressive architecture of the DomQuartier, but also offers fascinating insights into the history of Salzburg. Learn more about the Prince-Archbishops’ residence, St Peter’s Monastery and the Cathedral Museum.

“The whole city is a stage.” None other than Max Reinhardt once said this about the city of Mozart. And it was no coincidence that he chose the Cathedral Square for the performance of *Jedermann*. For it is precisely here, in the heart of the World Heritage Site of Salzburg, that the power and grandeur of the former Prince-Archbishops, and the development from a monastic settlement to the “Rome of the North”, can be particularly well understood.

Over the course of the tour, the focus shifts from the exterior to the interior. Insights into the Baroque state rooms and the cathedral wonderfully complement the development of the prince-archbishop’s residence. Regional history and intangible cultural heritage, such as Mozart’s musical history, which is closely linked to the ‘DomQuartier workplace’, provide the content that fills the framework created by the architectural conditions. The cathedral treasury and the exhibition at St Peter’s Monastery complete the complex picture of the Prince-Archbishopric.
